BREATH FOR A BREATH
“Breath for a Breath” I sit in an uncomfortable moment and repeat “Breath for a Breath” until I understand the words I’ve implanted in my mind. Filling my lungs to their fullest capacity, the first full breath always a little uncomfortable, I engage my awareness of my body. I haven’t noticed myself today. The rage and sadness which like a tidal wave instantly washes over all of my hope is suddenly curbed by this small series of words, “Breath for a Breath”. My life is a billion of moments intertwined with my perspective and my opinion, and I lose so many moments when I allow myself to drown in the water I feel is suffocating me, in the pain and the suffering. But my breath, my life force, and my ability to engage it reminds me I am not underneath the surface and that I am above it. “Breath for a Breath” I breathe deeply so I can live longer “Breath for a Breath” I breathe deeply so I can be present for more moments. “Breath for a Breath” I breathe deeply to notice my mind, my body, and my soul presence. I am not defined by my pain and rage nor am I hopeless when my breath is on fire. I write to remind you that the instant you came into this world your breath awakened you; let it carry you above the fears in the deep end, as it has never unaccompanied you yet you have unacknowledged it. Give gratitude to the wind which fills your lungs and allows you to be. A tool of our being a tool of our consciousness a tool of our healing a tool of our presence and potential. Take a breath and all the moments will come, all the moments you are meant to live will be. The world asks a lot of us, we ask a lot of us, and one who breathes will not only be able to give but will be present to receive.
